Go No Go. The frontiers of Europe
€ 58,00
Photobook, by Dutch photo-journalist Van Denderen, who during 15 years photographed immigrants and refugees from the Near East and Africa, trying to reach fortress Europe, through malicious men-smugglers and along smuggler's paths, but eventually often ending up in shabby pensions, refugee centres and police stations, with absolutely no intention to return to their homelands. With maps on first and last enpapers. See Parr Vol 3
Go No Go is an acclaimed project by Dutch photo-journalist Ad van Denderen that explores contemporary migration and European border politics. Based on 13 years of work, the book leads readers along the edges of Europe where immigrants attempt to reach the West via smugglers' paths. It captures scenes at police stations, refugee centers, and pensions, as well as the physical barriers like barbed wire fences at the rail tunnel in Calais. The publication features photography by Van Denderen and explores the human cost and logistical challenges of seeking asylum or migration across European frontiers.
