David Mellor is een Britse fotograaf en auteur die uitgebreid heeft geschreven over de geschiedenis van de fotografie. Hij schreef de inleiding voor de catalogus van de retrospectieve tentoonstelling van Bill Brandt uit 1981 en is auteur van verschillende monografieën over belangrijke fotografen, waaronder werken voor het Philadelphia Museum of Art.[1,2]
