Kaveh Golestan

Kaveh Golestan (1950–2003) was een pionierende Iraanse fotojournalist en kunstenaar die bekend stond om zijn moedige documentairefotografie. Zijn werk legde belangrijke historische gebeurtenissen in Iran vast, waaronder de Islamic Revolution, de Iran-Iraq War en de Gulf Wars, evenals sociale kwesties zoals het leven van arbeiders, prostituees en mensen met een psychische aandoening. Hij ontving de Pulitzer Prize voor zijn verslaglegging van de Iranian Revolution en kreeg in 1979 de Robert Capa Gold Medal (verzameld in 1992). Golestan overleed in 2003 nadat hij op een landmijn was gestapt tijdens een opdracht voor de BBC in Noord-Irak.[1,2]
