Larry E. McPherson is een Amerikaanse fotograaf en docent. Hij werd geboren op 1 mei 1943 in Newark, Ohio. Hij behaalde in 1976 een Bachelor of Arts aan het Columbia College in Chicago en een Master of Arts aan de Northern Illinois University. McPherson is associate professor of art aan de University of Memphis, waar hij ook heeft gediend als faculty development grantee. Zijn fotografie, die zich vaak richt op landschappen, natuur en stedelijke omgevingen, is tentoongesteld in grote instellingen, waaronder het Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, het Art Institute of Chicago en het New Orleans Museum of Art. Hij staat bekend om zijn specialisatie in het zelf drukken van dye transfer-beelden en heeft twee National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships in Photography ontvangen.
