Paul Shambroom

Paul Shambroom is een Amerikaanse fotograaf en kunstenaar die thema's als macht, cultuur en geschiedenis in de Verenigde Staten verkent. Hij studeerde in 1978 af aan het Minneapolis College of Art and Design en heeft sindsdien een breed scala aan onderwerpen gedocumenteerd, waaronder industriële omgevingen, kernwapens en gemeenteraadsvergaderingen in kleine steden. Zijn werk maakt vaak gebruik van grootschalige panoramische fotografie om geënsceneerde tableaus te creëren die doen denken aan epische geschiedschilderingen. De foto's van Shambroom maken deel uit van de permanente collecties van belangrijke instellingen zoals het Whitney Museum of American Art, het Museum of Modern Art (New York) en het San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Momenteel is hij Associate Professor aan de University of Minnesota.[1,2]
