Already well exhibited internationally with work in important collections, Fontana presents his first book - photos of his home town Modena. Well composed almost abstract images of the streets and architecture (cathedral, palace, canal] of the town are softly focused, painterly, restrained, in mediterranean colours of ochre, burnt umber, terracotta, pink, pale blue. unlike his later more vibrant work.
