Text by Andrew Pieyre De Mandiargues, photographs of mudes reproduced in photogravure in black and white, by Frederick Barzilay.
Les corps illuminés is a photographic work featuring forty-four nude photographs captured by Frédéric Barzilay. The book includes accompanying text written by the French writer André Pieyre de Mandiargues. Published in 1965 by Mercure de France in Paris, this edition was produced as an original release with a limited run of 100 numbered and signed copies. These special copies were enriched with an original photograph signed by Barzilay on the reverse side. The photographs are reproduced using the heliogravure technique. The work is noted for its artistic exploration of the female form, reflecting the close friendship between the photographer and the writer during the mid-20th century.
