Alessandra Sanguinetti is een Amerikaanse fotograaf die bekend staat om haar lyrische en zacht vormgegeven beelden waarin thema's als herinnering, plek en psychologische overgangen centraal staan. Geboren in New York City in 1968, verhuisde ze op tweejarige leeftijd naar Argentina en woonde daar tot 2003. Ze studeerde antropologie aan de University of Buenos Aires voordat ze fotografie studeerde aan het International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York. Sanguinetti werd in 2007 lid van Magnum Photos. Haar opmerkelijke werken zijn onder meer 'The Adventures of Guille and Belinda' (een langlopend documentair project), 'On the Sixth Day' (waarin het boerenleven in Argentina wordt verkend) en 'Some Say Ice'. Ze heeft talloze prijzen gewonnen, waaronder een Guggenheim Fellowship en een Hasselblad Foundation grant.[1,2,3]
