Carl Chiarenza

Carl Chiarenza is een Amerikaanse kunstfotograaf en docent die bekendstaat om zijn abstracte zwart-witfotografie. Zijn werk richt zich vaak op textuur, patroon en structuur, die regelmatig voortkomen uit natuurlijke objecten of geconstrueerde studio-landschappen. Hij was professor aan Boston University en de University of Rochester, waar hij kunstgeschiedenis en fotografie doceerde. Zijn artistieke praktijk is geëvolueerd van vroege verkenningen in de jaren 1950 naar complexe fotografische collages in latere jaren. Het werk van Chiarenza wordt gekenmerkt door zijn evocatieve, vaak hypnotiserende kwaliteiten die de 'landscapes of the mind' verkennen.[1,2,3]
