Lazar Markovich Lissitzky, bekend als El Lissitzky, was een vooraanstaande Russische en Sovjet-kunstenaar, ontwerper, fotograaf, typograaf en architect. Als sleutelfiguur van de Russische avant-garde hielp hij samen met Kazimir Malevich bij het ontwikkelen van het Suprematisme en werd hij een pionier in het Constructivisme. Hij staat bekend om zijn innovatieve tentoonstellingsontwerpen, propagandawerken en typografie voor de vroege Sovjet-Unie. Zijn werk overbrugde de kloof tussen abstracte kunst en functioneel ontwerp, wat wereldwijd invloed had op modern grafisch ontwerp en architectuur.[1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12]
