Michel Szulc Krzyzanowski

Michel Szulc Krzyzanowski is een Nederlandse fotografische kunstenaar die bekendstaat om zijn conceptuele benadering van fotografie. Hij werd in 1949 geboren in Oosterhout en studeerde aan de Koninklijke Akademie voor Kunst en Vormgeving in 's-Hertogenbosch, waar hij in 1970 afstudeerde. Zijn werk kenmerkt zich door twee hoofdtakken: autonome conceptuele sequenties en documentaire projecten. In de jaren 1970 verkreeg hij internationale bekendheid met zijn serie foto's van verlaten stranden (sequenties) en heeft hij diverse sociale thema's wereldwijd gedocumenteerd, waaronder portretten van 'the most beautiful people in the world' en langdurige documentaties van individuen zoals Henny. Zijn werk is tentoongesteld in grote instellingen zoals het Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, de Bibliothèque Nationale de France en het Art Institute of Chicago. Hij wordt erkend om zijn verkenning van intimiteit, privacy en visuele gebeurtenissen door een zeer persoonlijke en conceptuele lens.[1,2,3]
