Raymond Meeks is een Amerikaanse fotograaf en auteur woonachtig in de Hudson Valley, New York. Hij werd geboren in 1963 in Columbus, Ohio, en studeerde Social Anthropology aan The Ohio State University. Zijn werk richt zich op herinnering, plek en de manier waarop landschappen de individuele identiteit vormen. Hij staat bekend om zijn evocatieve fotografische stijl die atmosferische omgevingen en familierelaties verkent. Meeks is onderscheiden met verschillende prestigieuze prijzen, waaronder een Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship in Photography (2020) en een Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (2022). Hij is ook de zesde laureaat van de Frans-Amerikaanse fotografiecommissie 'Immersion', gesponsord door Fondation d’entreprise Hermès. Zijn werk bevindt zich in talrijke publieke en private collecties, waaronder de National Gallery of Art, MoMA Library en George Eastman House.^[1,2]
