Terry Richardson

Terry Richardson is een Amerikaanse mode- en portretfotograaf die bekendstaat om zijn provocerende stijl. Geboren in New York City als zoon van actrice Norma Kessler en modefotograaf Bob Richardson, verhuisde hij als kind naar Woodstock, New York, voordat hij naar de middelbare school ging in Los Angeles. Hij begon zijn carrière in het begin van de jaren 90 en trok naar de East Village van Manhattan, waar hij begon met het fotograferen van nachtscènes. Zijn werk wordt gekenmerkt door een 'amateuristische' esthetiek, waarbij hij vaak gebruikmaakt van instantcamera's en beroemdheden plaatst in alledaagse of seksueel geladen situaties. Richardson heeft campagnes geschoten voor grote merken zoals Marc Jacobs, Diesel en Tom Ford, en heeft samengewerkt met hooggeplaatste figuren zoals Lady Gaga en Beyoncé.
