Todd Webb

Todd Webb (geboren als Charles Clayton Webb) was een Amerikaanse fotograaf en auteur die bekend stond om zijn uitgebreide documentatie van New York City, Parijs en het Amerikaanse Zuidwesten. Hij begon zijn professionele carrière als fotograaf in 1946, na studie onder Ansel Adams bij de Detroit Camera Club. Webb werkte als fotograaf voor diverse instellingen, waaronder de Standard Oil Company en de United Nations. Zijn werk bevindt zich in permanente collecties van grote musea zoals het Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), het Art Institute of Chicago en het New Mexico Museum of Art. Hij ontving verschillende prestigieuze onderscheidingen, waaronder Guggenheim Fellowships in Photography (1955, 1956) en een National Endowment for the Arts photography fellowship (1979). Zijn boek 'Looking Back: Memoirs and Photographs' biedt persoonlijke inzichten in zijn leven als fotograaf, met dagboekfragmenten en verhalen over tijdgenoten zoals Georgia O'Keeffe.[1]
