Helmut Newton's SUMO is a titanic art book and a landmark in photographic publishing. Published by Taschen in 1999 as a limited edition of 10,000 copies, it serves as an exhaustive homage to the career of Helmut Newton. The volume covers every aspect of his work, from groundbreaking fashion photography and definitive nudes to celebrity portraiture. It is notable for its massive physical proportions, measuring approximately 50 x 70 cm and weighing nearly 35 kg. Edited by June Newton, the book includes a making-of booklet and was originally accompanied by a custom bookstand designed by Philippe Starck.
