Chili September 1973

Chili September 1973 is a significant photographic work by Dutch photographer Koen Wessing. It documents the tense days of the military attempt to root out public opposition in the streets of Santiago following the fall of Salvador Allende to Augusto Pinochet's coup in 1973. The book features 24 black-and-white photographs, many of which are double-page spreads. Originally published as a textless booklet by De Bezige Bij in Amsterdam in 1973, it is noted for its immediate impact on the press and remains a key document of photojournalism.
