Crimes and Splendors: The Desert Cantos of Richard Misrac
€ 45,00
First edition of this sought after monograph. Text by Anne Wilkes Tucker and an essay by Rebecca Solnit.
Crimes and Splendors: The Desert Cantos of Richard Misrach is a monumental publication that serves as the first comprehensive survey of the artist's epic work-in-progress. Evolving over two decades, the Desert Cantos series explores the beauty, mystery, and abuse of the American desert through eighteen numbered subseries or cantos. This collection features more than sixty photographs that had never before been published, alongside some of Misrach's most admired images. The book includes subjects as diverse as military bases in Utah, man-made floods in California, sublime Arizona skies, and arts happenings in Nevada. It was organized by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, to accompany a major midcareer retrospective.
